The Human Rights Affinity Group is building a home for its members: a sovereign, independent platform for human rights. Profiles, connections, a shared feed, and private messaging, built from the ground up to stand independent of any outside technology company, so the community’s data stays its own.
What it gives members
The member area takes shape around the work of the Human Rights Affinity Group:
- Profiles. How members show up to one another: chapter, the areas they work on, and a short bio.
- Connections put the co-chairs, advisors, and members who work alongside each other one tap away from their profiles.
- A shared feed surfaces updates from across the membership, so the work happening in one chapter is visible to all.
- Private messaging. Direct and group conversations between members, built to be end-to-end encrypted.
- Event registration. Reserve a place at upcoming events and keep the ticket in one place.
Built sovereign and secure
Most member platforms are someone else’s software: the roster, the messages, and the activity live on a vendor’s servers, under the vendor’s terms, monetized at the vendor’s discretion. This one is built to be independent of all that.
- Independent by design. The platform stands on its own infrastructure, not rented from a vendor, not hosted inside another company’s business, and not bound by terms written somewhere else.
- Sovereign over its own data. Profiles, connections, and messages stay within the platform’s own boundaries, out of reach of data brokers and advertising markets.
- End-to-end encrypted messaging. Conversations stay legible only to the members in them.
- Never the product. No advertising model, no data brokerage. The platform serves the membership, and only the membership.
